POETRY: This Damned Thing Called Love!
What is this damned thing called love?
Is it the feeling of butterflies that you feel that makes you feel a feeling you've never felt before that looks like you wanna pee but their ain't no pee coming out?
If it's a feeling you feel like you've never felt before, how do you know it's love when it's supposed to be a new feeling you've never felt before and you're supposed to know it's love you're feeling?
What is this damned thing called love?
Is it you getting weak in the knees and having beads of cold sweat on your forehead and feeling a tingle on your spine whenever you see someone you think you're in love with?
Isn't these exactly what you go through when you have a terrible stomach upset and feel pressed to do a big number 2 but you're quite a distance from the rest room?
What is this damned thing called love?
Is it that agonizing pain you feel when someone you think you love is showing affection for someone else and you can do nothing about it but stand aside and watch, hoping and praying that it would be you instead of that other person?
Isn't this exactly how you feel at a party when they're sharing jollof with well spiced goat meat doused in pepper sauce but they keep passing your table to serve others?
What's this damned thing called love?

Love is everything you never thought you needed. Every feeling you never knew existed until you felt it.

Love is you being hopelessly consumed by desire but desperate to live that lifelessness. Love is the slippery aisle that has brought kings to their knees. Love is the torment every heart can't do without.
